Third Radio, Inside, Oscillator

This is one of the 4 removable sections under the chassis.

This is the HF osc. It is the section closest to the front of the radio.

The tube is V4, an 6SA7.

Note the phenolic tie strip on the end of the wafer switch is busted. (I didn't do it!)

Note the heavy uninsulated chunk of wire from a ground lug up to one of the adjustable caps & a coil. It doesn't look like it belongs there but the same thing is in another radio.

Note the glue-like gunk on some of the tuning slugs. It was on all of them but it came off very easily.
