I assigned my own colors using 22 ga silicone wire. I kept the colors the same on all the T5 transformers I rewired.
The pictures below come from more than one radio but they're so similar, I didn't see the point in keeping them seperate.
Taking it apart.
I slapped the new wires onto bits of the old solid double cotton covered so I didn't have to melt the original solder joint.
Thinking these joints might short to the can, I added shrink tube. I was just going to leave it as-is but
it kept falling back through the hole so I used my grill lighter flame to shrink it enough not to slip.
I was hoping the small grill lighter would be kinder than my big heat gun. It was but even so, I briefly set the
coil on fire. Wax I guess.
A quick dab of alcohol on the caps to clean off 80 years of crud and wrap it back up.
